Le Studio des Arts Vivants has decided to break all taboos with this piece of theater that will be represented the 8th of February in its premises. We apologise for the short notice, but sometimes its complicated to find the source of information. Dialy is the moroccan version of the world famous "The Vagina Monologues" written by Eve Ensler in 1996 and that have ever since has shocked -and inspired- audiences. Dialy is the result of the conversations between 150 women in its more intimate experiences, everyday life, sexual life, hammam time etc.. part cheeky and insolent, the piece on stage is not necessarily welcomed on the first place but the public grows little by little so it comes to appreciate the message beyond . Vagina, a word that bothers because it refers to all the taboos of our society, and specially in Morocco. The word, without even knowing what the play is about in reality, challenges and disturbs the spirits who see the subversive if not indecent. Dialy is a total must for everyone who whishes to live with us here in 2014, and wants to develop a healthy relation with its own body and the very fabric of society.
The piece will be acted in darija, the colloquial moroccan language, with subtitles in french for the less fluents like yours truly.
